Solid or Liquid....

Well, for lack of anything else to say since my life currently is boring as bat shit and as interesting as watching paint peel I am opting for a blog thing/meme/quiz. The question is "Are you rain or snow?" and the answer is:

You Are Snow
You are peaceful and calm. You are able to enjoy each moment.
You have a pure, gentle spirit. People automatically trust you.

You have a playful, adventurous spirit. You still feel like a kid.
You are able to find the joy in any situation. You are blissful.

My analysis of the answer is:

"You are peaceful and calm." - I would have to agree with this in most cases. I'm a pretty easy going kind of person or at least I am now as I start to get a bit longer in the tooth.

"You are able to enjoy each moment." - All I can say is I damn well try. I like to think that I try to get the best out of each moment that I experience. The bad moments are not so easy but even then I try to find something positive, which can be difficult at best, but I do try.

"You have a pure, gentle spirit. People automatically trust you." - I'm not so sure how pure I am based on my past, but who am I much less you to judge. Anyway, if the quiz says I am well them I must be. I generally am able to make people feel at ease around me and as such they generally open up to me, and I believe I'm trustworthy.

"You have a playful, adventurous spirit. You still feel like a kid." - I want to believe this no matter how old I get. I never want to stop trying new things and experiencing new things that are all around me just waiting to be tried.

"You are able to find the joy in any situation. You are blissful." - This one I can't necessarily agree with because I am finding no joy in not finding gainful employment. I'm not even sure how to feel blissful

That's my analysis and all I've got to say for today so, move along people nothing else here to see. Move along...

What's up Wednesday for 27 May 2009...

Well here it is the very first "What's up Wednesday". As you may or may not know, last Wednesday I asked you "my loyal readers" to come up with questions that you would like me to answer and that every Wednesday following I would willingly answer those questions. I said no question was to personal and if it were well then I just would not answer it. Anyway, this Wednesday we have three questions albeit two are from one blogger friend and one from not only a blogger friend but also a friend in real life. So let's get to the questions.

As common courtesy dictates "ladies first" so the first question come from that dear friend who actually introduced me to my current hubby. You can read her blog here and her question is:

"Do you remember falling off the bar stool in Galveston - do you remember the trip at all??

The simple answer is yes I remember the event. However, it was not I that fell off the stool but instead it was the questioner herself after the first pitcher of Jamaican me Crazy’s”. Then after a another pitcher of “Jamaican me Crazy’s” there was the falling down a set of stairs outside a tacky tourist trap souvenir shop almost immediately followed by a little song and dance on the footpath. Now she will deny this to the hilt but I have a witness who now happens to be my hubby. I also remember from that trip that on the way home to Dallas the women in question wanted to drive so my partner and I could rest. Now we agreed to let her drive and the next thing I know I wake up to cars whizzing by in a blur with the woman in question going close to 100 and all she had to say for herself is "They'll have to catch me first", referring to the police. She told me I would be sorry for allowing people to ask anything and I think it is she that should think again before asking dangerous questions WEG (An old saying we made up like LOL except this one stands for Wicked Evil Grin)

The next two question come from a very dear blogger that I like to call my friend. He writes a very witty blog that you can read over here. His first question is:

"How much of Australia have you seen, and what do you mean to eventually see?"

Well, Australia is broken up into six states and two territories. You have for the states Queensland (QLD), New South Wales (NSW), Victoria (VIC), Tasmania (TAS), South Australia (SA), and Western Australia (WA). The two territories are the Northern Territory (NT) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), which is where the nations capital is in the city of Canberra. I have been to the ACT and Canberra as well as visiting the seat of Australian government the Parliament. Now as to where else I have been, I've travelled to QLD and the cities of Brisbane, Port Douglas, the Gold and Sunshine Coast to name a few as well as to Cairns which is one of the jumping off places where you can catch boats to take you out to the Great Barrier Reef which I have seen. I lived in Sydney for four years. Sydney sits in NSW. I have travelled up and down most of the coast of NSW to towns like Gosford, Newcastle and Wood Rising to the north of Sydney and Wollongong, Jervis Bay and Bega to the south. I have seen a few places inland NSW including the Hunter Valley for some outstanding wines.

I have visited Melbourne (VIC) on many occasions. One of the places to go from Melbourne is to take the road trip to the Twelve Apostles along the Great Ocean Road. I have also been to Adelaide, which is in South Australia. In SA there is a wine district called the Barossa Valley I would love to visit there. Finally, yet importantly I have of course seen Tasmania as it is where I now reside and I have seen almost the entire island except for both King Island and Flinders island off the north coast of Tasmania along with the northeast corner of the island around Stanley. To be honest it is not hard to get around Tasmania as it only takes you two and a half hours to get from the top to the bottom. So, the only major places left on my list are the city of Perth in WA. Also in WA there is once again another wine making district which is also know for it cheeses amongst other things and that is the Margaret River area and that is another place on my list to visit. Then there is the city of Darwin in NT of which I need to visit. I also need to visit Ayers Rock, aka Uluru as named by the indigenous people of the region. It sits in NT outside the town of Katherine. If I see all of that, I will be happy

The second question is:

"Today is Memorial Day: it makes me think of other holidays. But major holidays Do you still celebrate even though you live in Australia?"

I only celebrate Australian holidays, as things like Memorial Day do not make sense here. I of course celebrate things like Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter and Mother's and Fathers Day. I do not celebrate Thanksgiving but have given thought to inviting several friends over one November and baking the turkey and all the trimmings to have my own celebration so maybe some day. Halloween is a funny thing as there are some people who would like to see it introduced here and there are even people that have Halloween parties. In fact, there is a large Gay and Lesbian event each Halloween called the Halloween Ball, which of course is a big dance party and everyone dresses up. On the other hand kids don't dress up as a rule however there a few as I said who do As some of the candy makers sell their good in holiday packaging so it is a very confused holiday. The other one I will mention and then leave it is Father's day. While in the states it is celebrated in June over here it is celebrated in September and I am not sure why.

So there you go the first "What's up Wednesday". I know my answers were a bit long but maybe there are times that warrant long answers and other times will be short we shall see but first you need to start asking the question. So, the question line for next Wednesday is now open. Leave you questions in the comment section and I look forward to answering them for you next week. Until next time take care and enjoy...

What's the question???

Or better still where are the questions. In my last post I asked you my loyal readers to ask me a question that you wanted answered and so far I've only received one question. Now I know that there are more of you out there that want to have a peek into my life. I mean isn't that one if not the only reason you read my blog. I surely know it's not for the witty dialog. I figure you read this blog to have a "sticky beak" (Australian slang for looking or putting you nose into someones life to see how the other half lives) into my life. So, once again ask me a question. Nothing is off limits and if you do ask me a question that is off limits. well I just won't answer it but what the heck you 'll never know unless you ask. As I stated in the last post, every Wednesday I will answer the questions asked the previous Wednesday and then I will answer any new questions the following Wednesday and so on. Get those thinking caps on and find out more about me than you really need to know.

(PS put your question in the comments section of the last post or this one)

What's up Wednesday...

It's Wednesday here in the land down under and I want to try something new. As you read in yesterday's post I listed 10 things you did not know about me. Well now it will be your turn to ask. Starting today, every Wednesday I will answer any and all questions you want to ask about me. So, every Wednesday just leave a question in the comments section and then the following Wednesday I'll answer your questions. Then on the day I answer questions you will once again leave your questions for the next Wednesday and so on.

You can ask me anything and by anything I mean anything. If I decide it is off limits I'll tell you it's off limits but you don't know unless you ask. You can ask me about my childhood, or about my school days. You can ask me about my health or questions about what it's like to live with HIV after 23 years. I'll answer questions about what brought me to Australia and what I had to go through to get here. I'll answer just about anything. I won't answer any blatant sex questions. However you can ask toned down questions like "Have I ever had sex in the office?" and the answer is yes as I told you in the last post, but don't ask me to describe my dirtiest sexcapade because I won't answer you. Those stories are or me to know and for you to never find out. Other than that the field is wide open. So, put on your thinking caps and let me hear from you. I look forward to your questions and I can't wait to answer them.

See you next Wednesday with a few posts in between. Until then enjoy and take care...

Guilty, that's me...

Okay I'm going to list this post under 10 things you never knew about me and I never thought I would tell you. So here goes:

1. I sleep the way I was born, in the fetal position. Okay, I meant in the nude but sometimes I do end up in the fetal position depending on the day I had.

2. I hate oysters but I have sucked the heads of crawfish. (read into that what you want)

3. I've been in two accidents and one hit and run with a yield sign. The first two were not my fault. The last one I never knew it happened until the next morning. (again read into that what you want)

4. When it comes to television viewing two of my guilty pleasures are watching "Charmed" and "Sex in the City". Don't judge me you don't know me.

5. Lately, I cry at the drop of a hat and for a lot of other reasons too. Seriously, I find myself crying at the most innocuous things while watching something on telly. Maybe I'm becoming more sensitive as I get older. No, that's not it.

6. When I was much, much younger and very foolish I had a few risque (aka nude) pictures taken of my self and my then partner. I took possession of said photos and they came into close contact with a match and as the say ashes to ashes.

7. I had sex at the office. Once again when I was very, very young and foolish and I'm not telling you if it was with a colleague or the boss.

8. I believe in re-incarnation and I used to torment the nuns at my school by asking questions about it. I also spent a lot of time doing jobs around the convent for being impertinent.

9. I have a low tolerance for stupidity and the people who pretend to be.

10. When it comes to boxers or briefs, I like a little of both. Once again when I was wild and impetuous I usually went commando.

You know after reading this list I did a lot of things when I was younger. Gee, how things do change. Anyway I hope you liked reading this little list, maybe I'll come up with some more fun little facts later on. Until then Enjoy...

May 12 of 12...

Well, here is the May 2009 installment of 12 of 12. I took these around the house and down at the city waterfront. Enjoy...

(The 12 of 12 project was started by this man. Go check him out and the rest of the people participating in 12 of 12.)

Good morning!

Pick a number, any number...

Just some of the glass in the front door of the house

Autumn splendor through our back door windows

Boats on the city waterfront

To serve and protect

The casino's hotel tower

The weather is beautiful but it looks like rain is on the way.

What should I read next?

I'll read this next...

Colourful cups

Somebody says it's time for bed

That's it until next time so take care...

Life, simple and beautiful...

I woke up this morning to a world covered in a heavy dew left over from yesterday's grey and rainy day. I captured these photos and thought to myself "Isn't it amazing, how nature can take something so simple and create something so beautiful". Enjoy...

Two maybe....

I've got two interviews, one on Monday and one on Tuesday. So wish me luck. I know this is a lame post but I'm sure you can gather where my head, time and energies are focused. I hope everyone is well in blogger land. Until next time take care...
