It's all about the food...

Well here it is, five days later and I finally have that meme I've promised. This is the food meme that has made the rounds. I would give credit were credit due if I could remember where I found it but I can't but if I could I believe the credit would belong to this lovely man. So without further adieu have a gander at what I have and have not eaten in my lifetime as well as some things I never plan to put in my mouth. You'd be surprised how many things that weren't on this list that have made it into my mouth, or maybe you wouldn't, and get your minds out of the gutter. Anyway, bon apetit...

1) Bold all the items you have eaten.
2) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating. (Since I've never been able to strike through things or figured out how I will have to go with mark to things in italics.)

I have to admit that I had to look a few of these things up to find out what they were. There are a few of the dishes I would love to try and definitely will if I ever get the chance.

Reading is fundamental...

Well it's another meme ans this one is all about books. The 100 books on this list are what some would deem as must reads and some are considered classics. I'm afraid to say that I have only read 16 out of 100 and one of those I never finished. I must note that # 4 is a total of 7 books and #36 is one book out of 7 so to be fair I have actually read 29 books. The funny thing is I love to read. I have two shelves full of books in our bookcase that I need to read. I suppose I like more contemporay writers. Anyway, I must give credit as I stole this from here and other than that you may see how you do with the list and have a look at how miserabley I've failed in my reading fundamentals.

Look at the list and bold those you have read.
Italicize those you read part of but never finished.
Underline the books you LOVE.
Strike though those you hope to never read again, and sometimes wish you could un-read.

From the heart...

I want to send big apologies from the bottom of my heart to those bloggers that I recently tagged for the recently posted meme on this blog. I rarely if ever tag people for those things and I have no idea what came over me to do so this last time. Anyway, I apologise and promise not to do it again. All future memes will end wih "Try this meme yourself if you feel so inclined."

Also while I'm in the heart area apparently,

Your Heart is Red and Green

Your heart is serene and peaceful.

You are down to earth, laid back, and secure in who you are.

You bring strength and sanity to relationships.

You're good at communicating and working through problems.

Fruity, fruit, fruit...

I saw this little meme thing here and thought it was cute. My results I believe are quite accurate. Enjoy...

You Are a Strawberry

You are friendly, outgoing, and well liked by many people.
You are popular, but there's nothing ordinary or average about you.

You are a very interesting person, and you have many facets to your personality.
Sometimes you feel very conflicted. Your different sides of your personality pull at you.

You are a very sensual and passionate person. You are fiery... you can't help it.
In general, you keep your passionate side under wraps. You are only wild in private.

More things you don't and shouldn't know about me...

...but I'm going to tell you anyway. This meme has been making the rounds and even though I'm not writing the whole post I'm at least coming up with the answers and that has to count for something. Right? Oh well even if it doesn't I don't mind because it's the best I'm going to do at this point in time. It is either this or another flower of the week, because we got things blooming left right and center, but mostly in the back yard. I will post new flower pictures in the next day or so. I'm sure the anticipation is going to kill you but until then have fun finding out more sordid details of my life. Mom if you're reading this don't believe every answer I've given. Here's trouble....

Why is it that many within our community (and I'm only speaking about the gay community), why is it that we are so judgemental? Now maybe I'm about to get into big trouble but really at my age I've been through enough and seen way more than I care to have seen. So, what the hell here goes. I won't be the first person to write about this and I am sure I won't be the last. Anyway, I'm just so tired of all this inside bitterness that many within the community have against one another. Maybe it's because so many of us are still uncomfortable about who we are and as such it necessitates taking others down so we feel better ourselves. Maybe it's because all of our lives we've had to fight to get where we are and it seems that many of had to take on the "take no prisoner's" approach to the world around us. Why attack each members of our own community and simply because we don't fit a certain model set not only by society but within our own community. I mean within our community we seem to have all of these standards we're not young enough, buff enough, we're too fat, too hairy, we're whatever. We will never be able to be accepted and garner equality if we continue to fight with each other and discriminate within our own community..

What I'm looking at would be impossible, a Utopia if you will. It would be impossible because at the end of the day we are all human (or at least I'm lead to believe so for matters of this post) and no matter what label you put on us/yourself be it gay, straight, bi, queer, what ever; at the end of the day you/we are still just human beings with all the same emotions, feelings, needs and wants as the next person. Why any of us thinks we are better than the next is besides me. Don't get me wrong I have been as guilty as the next person and I surely don't like myself because of it. I would like to think I've grown a bit past that and have become more accepting or at least I damn well try and will admit when I don't.

So you say, what's my point? Well my point is that just maybe before we start attacking someone because they don't' fit our criteria for "being normal" we might want to just stop and think how we've been treated in the past (or are being currently treated) and just maybe we will be willing to give that person a bit acceptance and a lot more benefit of doubt.
None of us is perfect and considering the state of the world and the bigger picture we have so many things we need to worry about, but then again just maybe we need to start within ourselves before we start trying to change the world around us. That's a whole other rant.

Anyway, I'm not sure where that all came from as I said earlier I'm getting older and I'm tending to spout off and maybe it's true as you get older you start to say things that you wouldn't normally have said because you just get tired of holding your tongue. It's not that I don't care but I get real tired of people telling me what I can and can not say. I will say what I want as long as whatever it is I say does not pointedly hurt someone. It's my opinion and like the rest of the world I'm entitled and to the rest of whoever you may be I leave the question: Why do we do it?

(really I'm not that old and angry I just play that way for those around me)

Who am I???

I saw this over here and thought it would be fun.

*** THE EVERYTHING TEST ***

There are many different types of tests on the Internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)

Here are my results:

PERSONALITY
You are more logical than emotional, more concerned about others than concerned about self, more atheist than religious, more loner than dependent, more lazy than workaholic, more rebel than traditional, more engineering mind than artistic mind, more cynical than idealist, more leader than follower, and more introverted than extroverted.

As for specific personality traits, you are innovative (57%).

STEREOTYPES
Prep (85%)
Punk Rock (67%)
Old Geezer (67%)

LIFE EXPERIENCE
Sex (52%)
Substances (30%)
Travel (38%)

POLITICS
Your political views would best be described as Liberal, whom you agree with around 46% of the time.

SOCIOECONOMIC
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Working Class. You make more than 0% of those who have taken this test, and 100% less than the U.S. average.

If your life was a movie, it would be rated R. By the way, your hotness rank is 62%, hotter than 55% of other test takers.

What's in a name

I did this what does your name mean thing, that I've been seeing on a few other blogs, and I got two really different views. First I got this using my full name:

What Anthony Means

A is for Alluring

N is for Naughty

T is for Tempting

H is for Honest

O is for Old

N is for Normal

Y is for Young

...and then I got this using the name most people call me:

What Tony Means

T is for Terrific

O is for Old

N is for Natural

Y is for Young

What I find strange is that both said I was "Old". I won't deny that I'll be 50 this year (OMG!!!) but I sure as hell don't feel old. Anyway what really makes me wonder is that the "N" stands for three totally different things. First lets look at "Natural" and "Normal", all I can say is I try to be both. Secondly, we have "Naughty". Well all I'm going to say is "No Comment" and will definitely plead the fifth on that one :)
